Belgrave South Community Sports Pavilion

Following completion of a concept design, detailed stakeholder consultation phase and feasibility study in 2014 Centrum were again engaged by Yarra Ranges Council in 2015 to design, document and administer the delivery of a single storey community sports facility an extremely constrained site with mature indigenous trees.

The facility caters for the needs of Belgrave South Saints Football team and Belgrave South cricket club, playing at local level competitions for juniors, men’s and women’s sides.

The siting of the building ensured the retention of the mature messmate trees at the rear and maximised the height of the social room to improve sightlines across the playing surface. The design took inspiration from the Saint’s mascot and club colours, with a large circular feature column at the entry recalling a saint’s halo, set-off against the red soffit.
